Why we built Escro: crypto escrow for digital products

Every digital-goods seller has the same horror story — a frozen payout, a surprise ban, a chargeback months later. We built Escro to end it.

Why we built Escro: crypto escrow for digital products

If you've ever sold an app, a script, or a SaaS online, you know the feeling. The sale goes through, you deliver, and then — weeks later — the money you already spent gets pulled back by a chargeback. Or your account gets flagged and your balance is frozen "for review." Or you wake up to a ban and a support ticket that never gets answered.

The marketplaces weren't built for you. They were built for the payment processors behind them.

The real problem isn't payments — it's trust

When we mapped out what actually goes wrong in a digital-goods sale, payments were never the root cause. The root cause is trust: the buyer has to pay before they can verify, and the seller has to deliver before they get paid. Somebody has to go first.

Traditional platforms solve this with custodial escrow plus the ability to reverse a transaction. That reversibility is exactly what enables frozen funds, chargebacks, and bans.

What crypto changes — and what it doesn't

Settling in USDC (a US-dollar stablecoin) removes the payment processor from the middle. No chargebacks. No frozen balances. Instant, global payouts.

But crypto on its own makes the trust problem *worse* — payments are irreversible, so a scammed buyer has no recourse. That's why Escro isn't "just pay with crypto." It's escrow first:

  • The buyer's USDC locks in a non-custodial escrow. Escro never holds your money.
  • The product is delivered *through the platform*, so delivery is provable.
  • The buyer has a 72-hour window to accept or dispute. No action? Funds auto-release to the seller.
  • If there's a dispute, an arbiter can do exactly two things: refund the buyer or release to the seller. Never anything else.

Built for the people who actually ship

We build apps, sites, and AI tools ourselves. Escro is the marketplace we wanted to sell them on. Flat 1% fee, no subscription, instant payout, no games.
